(Marblehead)-  Two bodies found in Lake Erie appears to be that of a 12-year-old girl who went missing with her father earlier this month while they were kayaking.

The Erie County Sheriff's office says they think the pair are Jonathan and Viola Francis based on their clothing and persinal effects.

The U.S. Coast Guard tells Newsradio WTAM 1100 they retrieved the body of a young girl Friday morning in the open waters of Lake Ere about six miles northeast of the city of Huron.

The Erie County Coroner's Office says the body of a man was found three hours later by a fisherman near the Cedar Point breakwall.

Police and family members say Viola and Jonathan Francis never came home after they left on a short kayak trip on April 6.

The pair did not have life jackets when they set out on Sandusky Bay. Two empty kayaks were found the next day.
