(Cleveland) - A dozen historic war ships have sailed into the port of Cleveland as the city revives its Tall Ships Festival.

During the festival from Wednesday to Sunday, the ships will provide a glimpse at the kind of wooden sailing vessels used to win the war of 1812. It's the first gathering of the replica ships in Cleveland since 2010.

100,000 people are expected to turn out for the festival, which offers ship tours, cruises on some of the vessels, dockside exhibits, food and entertainment.

Later this summer, the ships will help re-enact the battle of Lake Erie, which happened 200 years ago and ensured control of the lake for the U.S. for the remainder of the war.

The ships arrived Wednesday afternoon with a Parade of Sails.
