(Cuyahoga County) - The Cleveland Fusion Women's football team held its first 2013 tryouts Sunday as they looked ahead to the upcoming season.

Team owner Loree Soggs explains the tryout was held at the North Olmsted Sports Complex on Lorain Road. Women performed agility tests, sprints, throws, catches, standing jumps, and ran the 40.

Soggs tells Newsradio WTAM 1100 that they plan to hold 2 more tryouts, one in early November and the final one December 8th.

Interested women are strongly encouraged to participate, there is a $20 fee.

He expects the Fusion to have another good season in 2014, this year they were undefeated in the regular season and made the first round of the playoffs.

Soggs says these women really know football, and the team is picking up a lot of new fans. The regular season starts in April and runs through June.
