(Cleveland) - Mike Brown's second stint as Cleveland Cavaliers head coach was a short one.  The team, Monday, announced it has fired Brown a little more than a year after bringing him back to coach the team.

Brown was 33-and-49 during the 2013-2014 season.  Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert, in a release stated, "This is a very tough business.  It pains all of us here that we needed to make the difficult decision of releasing Mike Brown."

Gilbert went on to say "although there was some progress from our finish over the few prior seasons, we believe we need to head in a different direction.

Brown was 305-187 with the Cavs from 2005-2010 and 2013-2014.
