(Cleveland) - Army Specialist Angel Lopez was buried Wednesday.

The 27-year-old was killed Oct. 5 while serving in Afghanistan; he was to return home in 30 days.

Lopez had been stationed in Kentucky where he lived with his wife and children.

Services were held at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church with interment at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.

In a touching scene, the casket was taken by hand from the funeral home and carried to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church one block away with the Lopez Family and others following behind. A Lone Cleveland Police bagpiper led the way into the church.

The family was escorted from the church by Cleveland Police motorcycle officers, members of the Rolling Thunder Chapter 8 and others.

Governor Kasich ordered state flags flown at half staff today.
