(Cleveland) - A Winter Storm Watch has been issued for northern Ohio beginning New Year's Day and running into Thursday.

Meteorologist Jim Kosarik with the National Weather Service in Cleveland says the area could receive 4 to 8 inches of snow with the flakes starting to fly Wednesday morning.

Kosarik says the snow will intially be light but will stick immediately because of temperatures in the teens and lower 20's. Stronger winds New Year's evening could blow snow over roadways.
