(Cleveland) - A number of suburban mayors are throwing their support to Cleveland Mayor Frank Jackson in his bid for re-election.
The endorsement came after a meeting of the Cuyahoga Mayors and Managers Association on the campus Cuyahoga Community College.
South Euclid Mayor Georgine Welo credited Jackson for helping improve the economy of the entire region, and praised his collaboration with suburban leaders.
Lakewood Mayor Michael Summers said Downtown Cleveland's economic comeback has spread to his town and neighboring communities.
Other leaders supporting Jackson were the mayors of Pepper Pike, University Heights, Shakers Heights, Brooklyn, Orange Village, Woodmere. Cleveland Heights, Warrensville Heights, Lyndhurst, and Brooklyn Heights.
Jackson thanked the suburban mayors for their support and pledged to continuing working in concert with them in the future.
