(Cleveland) - The switch to Daylight Savings Time can always serve as a reminder to do a couple things around the house.

When the time change takes place, as it did when we sprung forward an hour Sunday morning, it is always wise to change the batteries in your smoke detectors inside your homes.

Also, if your smoke detectors are more than ten years old, it is wise to buy new ones.

You should have a working smoking detector on every floor of your home and an escape plan in place in case fire breaks out inside your house.
