(Cuyahoga County) - In downtown Cleveland, a HIV testing event was held to honor late Congresswoman Stephanie Tubbs Jones.

It was 20 years ago that Jones worked to remove the stigma from AIDS/HIV testing by getting tested herself, at a time when the disease sparked much fear and controversy.

Meeting at the Stephanie Tubbs Jones Transit Center near Cleveland State University local leaders joined forced to urge everyone, but especially women to get tested for HIV.

Free HIV testing is being conducted at 6 locations around greater Cleveland.
