Miranda Lambert doesn't like a rule breaker.

It's been nearly a week since news of the country singer's split from her boyfriend of a few months, Evan Felker. While rumors have run rampant about the cause of their split, a source recently told People, it was simple, the two called it quits after Evan crossed lines that Miranda felt were deal breakers

“I don’t think it was a dramatic split, but he knew what he was ‘allowed’ to do based on her rules and he broke them,” said the insider. “He did something that he knew she wasn’t going to approve of, she assumed he did it and he didn’t deny it.”

Miranda casually announced their split by saying she is "happily single" in an interview with The Tennessean earlier this month. “Love is a hard road sometimes and it’s been a roller-coaster ride for me, but I’m definitely thankful for all the ups and downs because I’ve had some really good songs come out of it,” she said. “You’ve got to take the bad parts and put them on paper and then move on to the happy parts.”

Miranda and Evan began seeing each other shortly after Miranda split from her boyfriend of two-years, Anderson East, earlier this year. While Anderson didn’t confirm their break up until April, Miranda and Evan reportedly started dating months before while Evan’s band, Turnpike Troubadours, opened three dates for Miranda on her “Livin’ Like Hippies Tour."

A source previously told People, Evan fell for the “Vice” singer after just two days of touring — and spent the following months leaving his now ex-wife, Staci Nelson, in the dark about his relationship with Miranda.
