A lemonade stand run by brothers Parez and Jakkhi Reese in Kansas City, Kansas, received unexpected support after an anonymous caller reported the business to 911. When police officers responded to the complaint, instead of shutting it down, they bought some items and helped spread the word about the boys' summer venture.
Officer Morgan Reed contacted her colleagues and encouraged them to visit the stand. The Kansas City Police Department also promoted the stand on social media, inviting residents to stop by and support the brothers, who were selling lemonade, Kool-Aid, and snacks.
The increased attention helped the boys earn nearly $300 in a single afternoon, and Reed returned the following day to spend another $40. Parez says he plans to use some of the money to help homeless people and buy a new e-bike, while Jakkhi hopes to purchase diapers for his niece and nephews. The brothers plan to continue operating the stand throughout the summer.
