Following Sunday’s World Cup match between Japan and the Netherlands in Dallas, NFL quarterback Jameis Winston joined Japanese fans in cleaning up trash from the stadium seats. He’s serving as a correspondent for Fox Sports during the tournament and was seen carrying a blue bag and collecting litter after the match ended in a 2-2 draw.
Fox Sports retweeted a video of Winston helping with the cleanup while wearing a custom Japan jersey bearing his name. The network later recognized both him and the Japanese supporters for their efforts after the game.
According to ESPN, Japanese fans have followed the tradition of cleaning up after World Cup matches since 1998. Before the game, Winston also spent time with Netherlands supporters, posting a video of himself walking with fans dressed in orange as they headed into the stadium.
