NBC has shut down production on “America’s Got Talent: Extreme” after Jonathan Goodwin was hospitalized after a stunt went horribly wrong last week.Jonathan was strapped in a straitjacket and suspended in the air with two cars on each side of him. The plan was for the seasoned stuntman and escape artist to free himself and fall onto the waiting airbag below as the cars crashed into each other. Unfortunately, his timing was off so when the fell, he ended up sandwiched between the car and setting off a rigged explosive. And yes…it was as horrific as it sounds. He was airlifted from Atlanta Motor Speedway in Georgia to a nearby hospital. The 41-year-old underwent surgery and remained in critical condition in the trauma ward.An “AGT” production spokesperson released a statement about the incident. “Our thoughts and prayers remain with Jonathan Goodwin and his family as he continues to recover from his accident on Thursday,” the statement said. “In order to focus on the wellbeing of our crew, we will be temporarily pausing production on ‘America's Got Talent: Extreme’ and will resume the last few days of filming at a later date. The health and safety of our cast and crew continue to be our priority.”
