What an expeiment! Payless has been around since the 1950s and still giving many reasons to still shop with them. Payless conducted an social experiment to show their shoes could compete in the high-end world without the most influence even noticing the difference. Payless opened a fake new shoe boutique named 'Palessi' and put their shows on the shelves with 300%-1,200% mark ups from their regular prices. This experiment was yes fun but truly showed how image conscious our society has become. We might go as far as this showing maybe how materialistic we have become as a society too.
