Alan Jackson Celebrates 30th Anniversary of His First Record Contract

Alan Jackson's storied career is being celebrated with the release of a new documentary, "Alan Jackson: Small Town Southern Man," coming to DVD this week.

The DVD, which is released in conjunction with the 30th anniversary of Alan singing his first record contract with Arista Nashville (June 26th, 1989) features interviews with Alan, rarely seen performance footage and photos, as well as interviews with fellow country stars like Carrie Underwood, Alison krauss and Lee Ann Womack.

The country music star's hometown of Newnan, Georgia is also celebrating Alan's career with a newly-created exhibit on display at the Coweta County Visitors Center. The city also commissioned a two-story mural of Alan Jackson on the side of a building at 11 North Court Square .
