Brantley Gilbert and Lindsay Ell have a new number one single. the pair's collaboration for "What Happens in a Small Town," tops the "Billboard" Country Airplay chart this week.
"I couldn't be more proud of this number one," Brantley tells “Billboard.” "I'm especially excited for Lindsay, it being her first, and I hope I can speak for us both when I say that we couldn't have done it without our amazing fans, our incredible teams and, of course, country radio."
This track is Brantley's fifth number one so far, and Lindsay's very first. The tune marks Brantley's first number one since 2015's "One Hell of an Amen."
"What Happens in a Small Town" is nominated for Musical Event of the Year at tonight's highly anticipated CMA Awards, and Brantley's particularly excited, not for himself, but for Lindsay. "It's Lindsay's first, and partnering with her on this song has been absolutely amazing," he shares. "I love to see awesome things happening for any female in our genre, but especially Lindsay being as close as I've been able to be with her and seeing how hard she grinds just makes it that much more special."
