Men Being Driven To “Hatfishing” On Dating Apps

Insecurities, judgment, and superficial left-swiping have forced some men on dating apps to resort to what’s now being called “hatfishing.”

Guys are posting pics of themselves in hats and hoodies to avoid calling attention to their thinning hairlines or straight-up baldness.

In some cases, they’ll even go on a few dates without ever taking that hat off, and then spoil their ruse for the first time once they think they have the lady on the hook.

Unfortunately, thinning and receding hair is a fact of life, and it sucks that there’s an element of the superficial dating world that’ll judge a guy just on that.

That said, dating experts say a guy’s best play is to be who you are unapologetically.

Yeah, it might take frustratingly longer to hit a match, but at least he won’t get called out for “hatfishing” later on when the big reveal happens.
