Thomas Rhett shared a sweet glimpse of moments he shared with his wife as he posted a sneak peek of an unreleased song on Monday (September 15).
The country superstar spotlighted his wife, Lauren Akins, in the clip of “On A River.” The romantic ballad is set to release on Friday (September 19), one week before the deluxe edition of Rhett’s seventh studio record. Rhett released the original edition of About A Woman last summer. He said at that time that the album paid tribute to “one woman, my wife, and it gave me an opportunity to say ‘I love you’ in a lot of different ways.” He’s since released a few other new songs, and confirmed earlier this month that the final About A Woman deluxe tracks will be available on September 26.
Rhett and Akins met in elementary school. The high school sweethearts dated briefly as teens, remained friends after their breakup and rekindled their romance a few years later. They got married in October 2012. Last month, Rhett and Akins announced Akins is pregnant with Baby No. 5. The baby will join big sisters Willa Gray (9), Ada James (7), Lennon Love (5) and Lillie Carolina (3). Rhett is the latest country artist to announce a baby on the way in 2025.
