Lainey Wilson paused her concert when she spotted an unusual “duck” in the audience.

Wilson said this is “not the ‘Duck’ I’m used to seein’ when I look out into the crowd,” when she shared a clip of that moment on Instagram on Thursday evening (October 9). The Whirlwind megastar noticed one fan wearing a duck mask during the show, and approached the edge of the stage for a closer look.

“Stop!” Wilson said, and continued speaking to the concertgoer. “That is hilarious. I should’ve wore that and done that song. You want me to put it on and see if we can — no, I’m just playing. I don’t know if it’d fit over the hat. I love it so much.”

Wilson got engaged earlier this year to fiancé Devlin “Duck” Hodges. She shared in a recent interview with Southern Living that Hodges got his nickname because he “was a world-champion duck caller,” but “that’s not even why he got the nickname Duck. He said he was playing football at Samford [University], and the coach there [said], ‘You remind me of one of my favorite quarterbacks ever, and his name was Duck.’ And he had a really good season that year. And so the whole team started saying, ‘It’s Duck season; it’s Duck season!’ So that’s how he got Duck.”
