Lauren Alaina is going to compete on “Dancing with the Stars” this season, and while she may have reality show experience, thanks to her time on “American Idol,” she expects it won't help her that much.
"I'll be dancing so that'll be different," she tells “Entertainment Tonight.” "I think it'll help me, the fact that I've been on a show. My fans voted me into my career, so I'm used to voting. But going into this show with zero skill of what I'm going to be doing. On ‘American Idol,’ all I've ever done is just sang. So we'll see. Pray for me."
Lauren admits she’s “a horrible dancer” and that she’s worried about falling, joking that her friends suggested the show be called “stumbling with the stars” because of her. But regardless of that, she said she decided to do the show after getting advice from her good friend, and last year’s winner, Bobby Bones.
“I called him up and I was like, 'Bobby I don't know how to dance. They want me to do the show,'" she says. "And he said, 'Lauren, I still don't know how to dance and I won. So just go have fun and do your best and, like, enjoy it. And people will love you.'"
The new season begins September 16th on ABC.
