University of Utah senior and devoted Taylor Swift fan Donna Mills couldn’t believe her luck when she learned that she’d won a pair of tickets to “The Eras Tour” concert in New Orleans through a contest at a Salt Lake City blood donation center. She was chosen from 27-thousand people who’ve donated blood over the last year and is the perfect winner because in addition to being a long-time donor, she’s also a huge Swiftie.
The concert will be even more special for Donna because she’ll be going with her mom, who was the inspiration for her to start donating blood. Years ago, her mother required blood transfusions due to a health issue, prompting Donna to sign up to donate. She had to wait until she turned 16, but she’s been donating regularly ever since. Today, her mother is healthy, and they share not only a blood type but also a love for Swift's music.
Being a dedicated blood donor, Donna couldn’t pass up the opportunity to encourage others, especially young people, to consider donating. She shared how meaningful it is to hear that her donations helped save lives, including people like her mother. She says the process is quick, not painful, and has a profound impact on those in need.
