Tween Girls Stop Attempted Kidnapping Of 6-Year-Old Neighbor

In Kent, Washington, three 11-year-old girls are being hailed as heroes by local police for stopping the attempted kidnapping of their six-year-old neighbor. The tweens were heading toward an ice cream truck recently and saw their young neighbor being held by an unknown man. Recognizing that the little girl was in distress, they quickly recorded the scene on their phones and approached the man, questioning him about his relationship with the girl.

The man initially claimed that he knew the child, but the girl denied knowing him, prompting the man to release her and flee. The girls then safely escorted the child back to her apartment. The child's parents confirmed to the police that the man was a stranger. The brave act on the part of the three girls was instrumental in the apprehension and arrest of the 40-year-old suspect, who was booked on suspicion of kidnapping.

The Kent Police Department commended the girls for their "selfless bravery" and praised a 911 caller for their detailed description of the suspect, which aided in his swift capture. A family member of the six-year-old expressed gratitude for the girls' quick thinking and for the efforts of those who helped bring the suspect to justice.
