The University of Louisville is using Taylor Swift’s mega-successful career as a teaching tool with its new “Swiftonomics” course.

The class breaks down concepts like supply and demand and opportunity cost through the lens of Swift’s career, from concert ticket pricing to the trade-offs behind fame and fortune.

Even her lyrics get an economic twist, with lines from “August” used to explain scarcity and time management.

After a sold-out first gig, the professor hopes this pop-powered econ course becomes a permanent fixture.
