Zac Brown Says 30 Elephants, Birds, Hippos Were Included When He Proposed

Zac Brown’s proposal included dozens of elephants, birds and hippos, the superstar said in a new interview.

Brown popped the question to designer Kendra Scott over the summer, just a few months after publicly confirming their relationship when they made their red carpet debut at the 2025 American Music Awards. Brown said in a new interview with Fox News that “Kendra's such an amazing human being. We share so much in the way we love our family, the way we protect our people and our business, the way that we fight for good things in our philanthropy, the way that we choose to try to help each other.

“I had to figure out a way to do it,” he said of the proposal. “So, we were actually on a river. And on a barge with 30 elephants on the bank and the sun setting and birds flying over and hippos in the water. And I got it good.”

Brown also spoke about their families, Zac Brown Band’s upcoming run of shows at Sphere Las Vegas, the Grammy-winning group’s upcoming album and more. He said shortly after he and Scott confirmed their engagement when the band performed on the TODAY plaza that “we’re so happy we found each other, and we’re blessed.”
